CHARACTERISTICS OF THE INDIAN RESERVATION JARAGUÁ

Tekoa Payau The village is located near the peak of the Jaraguá in São Paulo. It currently has 125 families, with a population of about 650 Indians, of whom nearly 400 are children.

As the village is located within a large metropolis, there are many problems related to interference in their white habits and customs, and the absolute lack of natural resources for subsistence of the population.

The resources necessary for their survival comes from the sale of handicrafts, the help of competent bodies and donations from groups that are mobilizing to help them.
